B.F. (“Before Bacon Fest”)

Three day weekend! Yay!

We started off our weekend at the Main Street Diner in Valatie, New York. They fry a nice haddock.

Saturday we took Tela to the Kinderhook Dog Park. Here she is being surprisingly well-behaved, waiting for Scott to throw a ball. (She’s on the right.)

Why isn’t she this well-behaved at home?

After that we drove out to Great Barrington and hiked up Monument Mountain. It was only about a 40 minute drive, and a leisurely 90 minute hike.

Note how Tela only poses pretty for Scott.

The view from the top. We didn’t scramble up to the very top, because we were afraid Tela would get hurt. (At one point, she tried to pull Scott down a cliff. No good.)

Later on that night, we spent some time hanging out with friends on Burden Lake. It was a beautiful night for a late night boat ride and to sit outside and enjoy everything. I’m so happy we live in such a nice area.

Stay tuned tomorrow for my review of the 1st annual N.Y. Bacon Fest. It was a true bacon feast of epic proportions.
